I tested the Carrier AC and found that the made-in-china duel capacitor Had failed, I installed a new American-made capacitor that has a 5 year warranty in order to start the AC and test it. I then found the compressor would not start it was in locked rotor so I had to install a hard start kit, once it started the compressor ran fine the refrigerant charge and amperage draws are all good overall condition of outdoor unit is fair do to dogs have been peeing on it in the past

upon starting the Carrier air conditioning system I found that the indoor blower motor was just humming I traced the problem to a failed capacitor I replace the capacitor with a new American-made one that has a 5 year Parts warranty then restarted system and tested indoor blower motor is dragging and very noisy but is operating at this time and will possibly need replacement in the near future

found Carrier Air Conditioner was iced up I remove the air filters from the grills and checked the furnace there were none in it I then ran the heat for a few minutes to thaw all the ice out and then started the air conditioner found out it was severely low on freon I did a quick check of the outdoor unit where animals have been urinating on it in the past and located a leak in the condensing unit this is an R22 unit and will need to be replaced with a new 410a indoor and outdoor AC unit
tested operation of Rheem heat pump found refrigerant charge was good amp draws were good capacitor was within limits but disconnect fuse block was getting very hot the copper lugs are starting to change color even though all wires were tight system was running at 16 amps total and it's a 60 amp disconnect at this time it will need to be replaced
on a Trane air conditioning system that was not cooling found the safety drain overflow switch was stuck open I cleaned out the drain P-trap and reinstalled the switch started and tested air conditioner found that it was slightly low on R22 freon I recharged it to factory superheat specs no other issues noted at this time
